As I was sitting in Bible Study yesterday, our leader brought up the verse II Chronicles 16:9 which says..."For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him...". It gave me such a word picture: God, standing over the earth with His hands on His hips - eyes roving back and forth, up and down, searching out the souls who love and are FULLY committed to Him! And, it made me wonder, what does He see when He looks at me? Does He see a heart fully committed to Him, or a heart that is committed to Him when things are going good? Does He see a soul that is drained of all self and full of God's love and mercy, or a soul and self that still has "me first" and judges others instead of letting God do His job? Does He see a spirit full of love, or a spirit that harbors bitterness?
O God, please don't find me wanting. Please look at me and see my heart full of mercy, my soul that is so full of You that it crowds everything else out, and my spirit overflowing love.
What does God see when He looks at you?

Makes me think of one of my favorite quotes...
"It's easy to be grateful and good when you have so much, but take care that you are not a fair-weather friend to God." Unknown
